Securities Technology Monitor - TradingScreen Taps Garcia for New Global Marketing Role

TradingScreen, a provider of multi-broker execution management systems, on Monday said it named Charles Garcia to the newly created position of head of global marketing for traditional asset managers.

Garcia was previously head of North American sales for Sophis, a global provider of portfolio and risk management software.

In his new role he will lead TradingScreen's expansion into global asset managementand will be based in TradingScreen's New York headquarters. Garcia will report to Philippe Buhannic, chief executive of TradingScreen.

Among Garcia’s other rules: he served as director of business development at buy-side systems supplier BlackRock Solutions and spearheaded the order management system product and sales strategy for TradeWeb.

He also worked at Bloomberg Financial Markets, where he held a number of sales management roles including the growth of Bloomberg's straight through processing solutions and drove sales in new regions such as Latin America.

“This appointment is a strategic hire for the firm and reflects the growing demand we're seeing from our clients and prospects worldwide,” says Philippe Buhannic in a statement. TradingScreen does not disclose its number of customers.

In January, Trading Screen acquired an exclusive license to service institutional users of Citi’s multi-broker post-trade Best Execution Comparison Services (BECS) product. TradingScreen said it will oversee all multi-broker post-trade analytics for BECS, but will not be responsible for pre-trade cost analytics, which will still be offered by Citi. Trading Screen offers two other TCA services: its own TCA-in-a-Box provided to users of its trade execution management system and itero, a TCA service inherited through the acquisition of GSCS Information Services in February 2010.
